Who are The Taste Buddies?

Good question!

We are two moms that live in northern Virginia.  Loudoun County to be exact, which happens to be one of the wealthiest counties in the USA.  You would know this just by sitting in traffic on rt. 7 or 28, idling next to fancy sports cars, minivans with sticker families on the back, and SUV’s toting around kids to soccer practice.  There isn’t a shortage of moms, dads, great schools and family fun activities.  We have family friendly wineries, networking happy hours, and anything you could ever need is within 10 miles of your home.

Our story begins while both working for a large company, famous for its massages. One being a therapist, the other a manager they quickly became friends, chatting here and there through the halls, sharing stories about their kids and other things going on in their lives.  Eventually, the therapist moved on with her career, the manager stayed behind and they each had different life changes going on, which included a marriage and having more kids.  Yet, they managed to always stay in touch.  Fast forward a couple of years.  The manager is now looking for a new job and the therapists new office is actually in need of a manager.  All of a sudden, they are back together again.  The universe wanted these two together.  As it turns out, they shared more than just a manager/therapist relationship.  They shared a common love.  A true love of all things food.  Before they knew it, they were exchanging recipes at work, bringing in leftovers for the other to try, texting every day describing what they would make for dinner or getting ideas from one another on what to make.  It was food all day, every day!

Well, the therapist eventually left the office.  Doing massage for 13 years had caught up to her and her hands just weren’t what they used to be, yet, those two continued their texts, and sharing their meal plans with one another.

Then one day, it hit them.  They didn’t want to work for others, they wanted to work for themselves.  They wanted to do nothing but cook and talk about food and share their ideas for family meals with everyone.  Loudoun is huge but the world is bigger and nothing was stopping them now.  It was time to bring their idea to life. The idea that all it takes is one meal, to bring families back together.

And that brings us to here- where we will share meal ideas, recipes, stories, and generally anything that has to do with food and families because that’s who we are.

So join us on our journey, no longer the therapist or the manager, but as the Taste Buddies, and let’s bring families back together one meal at a time!
